' I have found that books can transport kids to another location.' Judith has been volunteering as a bedside reader at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust given that 2003. After retiring from teaching, Judith desired to continue to utilize her storytelling abilities to assist kids who are inadequately. Mark joined the NHS in his 30s after leaving his household's company with no official credentials, but a drive to make a distinction. He started as a psychological health support worker and went on to train as a general nurse. He qualified at 37 and invested the next 20 years progressively climbing up the ladder. ' I attempted to turn off a bedside lamp and felt like something wasn't best with me. I knew quickly it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob all of a sudden had a stroke. He was zipped air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he invested 4 weeks fixing up. 'I utilized the gym frequently and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehabilitation programme for people who have had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which gave me something to look forward to each week - socially, emotionally and mentally.' Bob thanked NHS staff for 'the fantastic support' and the continuous physiotherapy he got. Well done Bob and great work team! Early acknowledgment of stroke symptoms can conserve lives. ' Working alongside nurses and seeing the distinction they made inspired me to believe, 'I might do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who began her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she joined Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve clients in Hertfordshire. 'I enjoyed helping people and finding out about the body, so nursing simply felt right.' Sharon reflects. Sharon has actually operated in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to name a couple of, showing the vast array of locations in which nurses make a difference. 'Truly, I can't consider an area where nurses don't make an effect in some kind,' Sharon admits. On why her role is special, Sharon explains, 'The care, compassion, and empathy we bring make the nursing role special.
